Local Volunteers Sort Holiday Cards for Heroes

This week, the Mount Rainier Chapter Service to the Armed Forces department (SAF) hosted a Holiday Mail for Heroes card sorting event. Huge thank you to the wonderful volunteers who helped sort through the cards. SAF exceeded their original goal of 2,000 cards this year.

The national Holiday Mail for Heroes mailbox will be open until December 7. You can give something that means something by sending a card of thanks and support to the special post office box being operated by Pitney Bowes:

Red Cross volunteers across the United States and on military installations overseas then sort and deliver the cards throughout the holiday season. The Red Cross and Pitney Bowes have received and distributed more than 4.7 million cards for members of the U.S. Armed Forces, veterans and their families since the program began in 2006.

How do I go about getting my name and address off your mailing list? I will be moving soon and won’t have a permanent address just a PO box.
